After months of procrastinating, and a few weeks of solid work, my brand spankin’ new website is live.
The new website comes two months after my move into full-time freelancing and fills a great void of not having a common place to house my body of work. Added to the new folio, the website will also be a place to communicate my thoughts on design, freelancing, and anything else I find along the way.
It has been almost 3 years since I last published any kind of personal portfolio, and trust that this is a big improvement over anything I’ve done in the past. The new website completes my new brand, and the transition into my full-time freelancing career.
For all those who are interested, the new website is powered by Wordpress and hosted by Media Temple. Both of which are truly awesome.
Finally, thanks to my incredible girlfriend Karen, for putting up with me while I worked through the day and night, on and off, for the past 4 weeks.
Please take a look around, and be sure to let me know what you think of the new site below.

The site looks seriously awesome! You’ve created something that’s both visually appealing and interesting to read. I’m finding myself actually wanting to click on things to see where they go and what they do, and being a jaded Internet user that’s an impressive feat.
You’ll go far, my friend. Excellent work!
P.S. First comment WOO!
This is a great design. Congratulations on the final product!
Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback
Just came across your portfolio today, saw this post, and had to give you props on how awesome it is. Great, great, great work.
The new site is amazing, and yours portfolio is too.
Congrats.
Ale
I’ve been procrastinating mine as well. I can only hope to achieve something this good when I redo mine.
Great work!
this site has the wow! factor, congrats
Just wanted to say congrats on the awesome new site. I am currently doing the same thing, working day and night while my wife and newborn son deal with me on that respect lol. Nice work man.
Hey Jay, your site is beautiful mate! I’m sure it took hours and hours of hard work, lots of concepts and some blood, sweat and tears. For some reason designing for yourself can sometimes be the hardest thing. Best of luck with it all, I’m sure you’ll be getting noticed all around the world. It’s great when hard work pays off!
This is seriously one of the best portfolios out there. Incredible!
Love the redesign, really inspirational – love the clarity. Great Job.
Came across your site from IspiredMag, I love the clean feel and the clear communication, makes me want to explore and stay awhile
Hello!
Truly a very nice, clean, well designed website. Nice work.
I was wondering that what font do you use for the headlines? (I.E. “The Blog”)
Thank you in advance,
Miikka
Thanks for all the kind words guys!
Miika – the font is FF Meta, and the script font is SignPainter.
Tight & polished presentation, Jay, and an impressive body of work. Nice stuff!
Just found your page today, and can’t say other than that I absolutely love it! The use of jQuery is great, and it is used in all the right ways, in all the right places. You are truly an inspiration!
Wow, what an amazing site you have here. I got excited by the prospect of having a designer of your caliber near by, I thought we may have even been able to catch up and talk web.
Then I realised you live in Perth, that’s almost like being on another planet
Anyways keep up the great work!
Hola Great work
Looks good!
Good works!
This website is as close to perfect as it gets! Great level of details, clever use of jQuery. Two big thumbs up! Congratulations
How on earth did you do the animated header on your front page? Does it use two different sized images, or does it really magnify them as they go through?
Great site! I always enjoy seeing sites managed using in WP. I’m currently learning ExpressionEngine, and I’m not quite sure which way to go. I like the better flexibility of EE, but the simplicity of WP. There are some things in WP that are harder to accomplish, but I guess it depends on a site’s needs. Great job on your WP site!
I loved the design and the way JavaScript was involved..Good Work !
